This month is my beginning~ By November 2009 I will be a healthy, fit, hot momma!!! My year long goal ..... which is how long it could take is by the time I am 35 to be in healthy shape, strong, and full of self esteem~
My November 2008 goal is to work out 3 times a week, and start my day with a healthy breakfast!!
Went to the site and saw some of the demos...... I have to tell ya seeing you on screen makes me miss you!! Great demos!! I think I'll especially like the PLANK one. Next time I'm ready to curse you for pushing so hard I'll watch you do a plank over and over and over. (hahahahahahahaah)
I would have to say that my November goal is to lose at least 5lbs, and really watch my caloric intake. I have felt pretty discouraged since I lost a lot of weight last year and gained 10lbs. back over the summer/fall. I'm hoping having some support and encouragement will help lose the 10 I gained, and hopefully 5 or 10 more on top of that. My husband and I both set some fitness goals and agreed that I want/need to be in good health before starting a family, so my motivation is once I lose at least 15lbs., we can stop taking precautions...if you catch my drift! he he... Can't wait to get started! I'll be headed to the gym for today's first workout this afternoon!
My Nov. goal is dedication, dedication, dedication! One year has passed and 20 pounds have been found, I'm ready!
I just finished my 1st workout ladies... Sarah, I can successfully say, the tears were rolling. (Not to mention 1 pound of Halloween candy was vomitted into the toilet!) Love you and miss you Sarah!
BTW I hate jumping,

Alright Chicks.....you're off to a GREAT start! Day one is always the hardest - in many ways. You all should be proud of yourselves and excited to be challenged, and to meet those challenges, together in the weeks ahead! I see some really great goals and I'll send friendly reminders along the way to keep you on top of them. It's time to make a change! ~Sarah
I just had my day 1 on Monday and it didn't go very well. Day 1 always sucks and I hope this is my FINAL day 1 of my life!!!! I'm in a new frame of mind that set backs can't get me down......go to next day and work hard!!! I've started a journal on my blog... http://hjcgic.blogspot.com/ Hope everyone's week goes smooth and just keep swimming....... just keep swimming..... just keep swimming!!!!
Sarah - Ok - I don't know know how to "blog" - just typed something and it disappeared. awesome. Anyways - super excited about ChickFit! My goal for Nov is to get back into healthy habits of working out regularly....harder than it sounds!

I bombed my first workout so my results reflect.... cardio was suppose to be 2 miles and I only had time for 1 mile. I did that in 20 minutes... no great accomplishment there. (haha) My resistance training took about 25 minutes with numerous small breaks. Maybe I should have started a level lower???
resistance training... no idea how long it took due to several interuptions by small people.
2m run was just under 22mins.
past 2 days have sucked, due to crappy adoption news... no workouts and i've been raiding the kids halloween bags regularly!
My goals for this program are to feel good about looking at myself in the mirror and pictures and to lose AT LEAST 40 pounds and AT LEAST 6 inches off my waist and hips.
My times for November 1st were -
37 minutes cardio and 11 minutes resistance.
Thanks SO much Sarah!!
Okay Sarah, I'm finally getting started with Chickfit. I am really excited to get back into a regular work out routine as my work out "schedule" has been really sporadic lately. I just signed up to run a 5k in Dec. so hopefully I'll be ready! I ran two miles yesterday and it felt really good. Looking forward to seeing everyone's progress!

I have a new short term goal.... a friend invited me to play in a coed volleyball league starting in Feb. To do that I have to get busy!!! I'm thinking about it and leaning towards yes.... A good motivator!! I love volleyball and went to college on a volleyball scholarship.... never thought of something like that before!! Hopefully I'm ready!!!
OKay....day one? Didn't happen, talk about a great start. My schedule was jam packed and I just didn't fit it in- Rest day...yep did just fine with that! When I did do the cardio I did 5 min warm up and added one lap of cool down and ended at just over 30min. The resistance took only about 10min. Is it supposed to be that short? I guess I'm so used to doing multiple circuits etc. Regardless, I actually really like it because I'm sore but getting a lot of cargo in. The week in general was a flop however with night class twice a week and a crazy homework schedule. I didn't have time to get the resistance in Tuesday and didn't have time on Wed. (couldn't drag myself out of bed at 5:20am!) but I did have to do a bunch of reading on Monday night, so in addition two doing Mon. scheduled workout, I read at the gym while walking uphill for 25min. and then a fast paced walk for another 30 or so. then moved to the sit-down bike for another 45min. So I got a lot of extra movement on Monday!
I hope that this next week can be more successful! I did lose 1lb already so I'm hoping it will be more by Monday morning (1week from when I last weighed in).
Keep up the great work ladies!
Hi Ladies! Well this 1st week was tough for me, b/w traveling from east coast to west coast throughout the last week and then moving into our new office in a day and a half for our grand opening, it was really hard to fit in the workouts. I was able to get Sat.-Thursday done, then I fell off the wagon for Friday & Saturday. But the workouts were great, loved it, i needed the little extra motivation to keep me on track. Here are my results:
Workout #1: 22:44 cardio & 19 min resistance
#2: 22:00 cardio & 8 min resistance
#3: 18 min resistance
#4: 22:00 min, didn't have time for resistance
Ok, that's it, a little disappointed in myself this last week, will kick it up a notch this week :)
For week three I want stronger arms & abs, have to get in shape hubby comes home in less than 2 weeks :)
The most challenging day for me was yesterday - Saturday - the resistance and 5K run - so challenging in fact that I did not finish the 5K, primarily because of having an out of town guest. However, I did improve my 2 mile time by 3 1/2 minutes since the beginning of the week.
And the area(s) that I most want to work on our my abs and hips.
Have a GREAT week everyone!!!
Ok - this is late. But my first workout was friggin hard. 2mile run in 20min (but I count this as resistance training as well because I had the two dogs with me and poop scooped:) Anyways, resistance....I did half of it...and then my thighs said no more...I am thinking about starting at an easier level....we will see how this week goes....
GOAL for 3rd week: Endurance (ok that isn't a specific area of the body....so endurance w/resistance)
Hi Ladies...Marissa here...late as usual. I'll be honest...I have lost my directions to the gym. I apparently have no idea how to get there. =) Ok, really, I have not been to the gym since about September sometime I think. I got really sick and then was traveling and now all I do is work and unpack unpack unpack. I take the dog for swift walks around the hood, but besides carrying boxes up and down three flights of stairs, that's my workout. I have lost weight since I moved though...but that means I have lost muscle! So, my immediate goal is to get back on the horse. My years goal is to get back to deployment strength/muscle tone - Sarah knows what that is. My biggest challenge right now is that I can't keep my dog in the yard, so I can't go to the gym before I go to work as that is too long for him to be in his kennel. So, I need to do workouts at home...any suggestions on websites where I can buy a good workout mat? Let me know.
My workout week wasn't as good as hoped. I did 2 days worth of workouts and flaked out the rest. My goal was to get in 3 workouts this week, and I only got 2. I have no excuse for the resistance, but cardio I'm waiting on my treadmill.... hopefully be here this week. I got off to a great start, then just dumped it all!! Not good!!! Getting back to it tomorrow and going to strive for 3 hard workouts!!!
I don't have one area in particular... want my whole body toned... abs, butt, arms, legs!!
Hey ladies, due tono internet access it can be hard yo post when I'm asked to. Last week wasn't that great, gained .5 lbs0in fact! I started this week off great,8 min 25 second for res. And 14 min 25 second for cardio this Monday. Is it supposed to be that short? I ended up walking uphill for an additional 15 min.I missed today though'so I willmake it up on thurs.
My body needs the most worj in the midsection including stomach and love handles. This seems to be what makes me the most self conscience. My thighs and buy have a lot of cellulite I would like to get rid of too. Good luckthis week.... I want 5lbs gone before thanksgiving!
Intermediate huh??? I am really pleased to know that Sarah thinks of me as being on this workout level, however, I must confess that these workouts have been kicking my butt (in a good way). I actually was unable to do all of the workouts b/c I was so sore from all of those darn tricep dips and v-sits.
Over the past several months I've been focusing a lot more on running then I have strength and conditioning. My goal is to get stronger and to get more toned. Have a great week everyone and talk to you more soon:)
Have a great workout week everyone!!! Work hard and make good healthy eating choices!!!
blarg...first off, I want to apologize for the gross number of misspellings in my last post! That darn blackberry can be hard to work with sometimes...teeny tiny keys!
I'm still at work, cleaning, grading, organizing. I have every intention to get to the gym when I get home. I didn't work out Tues. so I did Tues. workout yesterday and plan to do yesterdays today...that way I will be all caught up.
I'm feeling week and discouraged though, so thanks for all the positives notes on here! Its good to know I'm not the only one struggling, but lets join forces and kick this fat in the butt!
Whew...okay, well next time you check in..make me report whether or not I actually make it to the gym tonight. Thanks girls! Talk to you soon!
OK. So I am late "blogging" ... but I do tend to procrastinate. So this week has been better than last week, but I didn't do a very good job last week so really I had no place to go but up....I digress...Anywho.... feeling better about working out and getting into a routine...Didn't get in all of the workouts (did manage to do the rest days though:) but I am excited for the rest of the month....and a little bit scared if next week means more lunges (yikes! Not my favorite exercise) Also, I think I may be totally uncoordinated because i can't figure out the "rope climb" and get it to look as graceful as Sarah looks!!! But my abs were burning so I figure, good enough:) Looking forward to making next week even better than this week!
